Surreal Sound Studios is a 14,000 sq/ft. rehearsal studio with state of
the art, fully equipped hourly rooms and 24-hour access monthly rooms. All
rehearsal studios are soundproofed and secure.
It is a space for artists to rehearse, meet, and network.
Surreal also offers promotional services for bands and solo artists. From
photography to press packets, booking services to public relations, flier
art to web design, Surreal Sound Studios' experienced staff can create a
package that works for you.
We also offer thirty minute and hourly music lessons in Classical and
Contemporary Guitar, Bass, Piano, and Drums.
The studio is located minutes from the Castor/Allegheny exit of I-95 in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia.
Surreal Sound Studios is owned and operated by Joseph Lekkas and Maiken Scott. Joseph is a local musician and show promoter and has worked for such Philadelphia institutions as The Settlement Music School, WHYY, Nina Zucker Associates Public Relations,Matthew Izzo Shop and Heyday Entertainment in addition to booking and opening local clubs like The Khyber, North Star Bar, The M Room, Doc Watsons, Samba and LaTazza 108. He has a BA in Communication Studies from Rowan University and has been involved in the Philadelphia music scene for over 10 years.
Maiken Scott is a radio producer at WHYY in Philadelphia. She has a BA in
Journalism, PR and Advertising, and an MA in History from Temple
University. She has sucessfully planned and promoted shows, openings and events in the Philadelphia area for many years including The M Room, Doc Watsons, Samba Nightclub and many more.
